My interest
in this subject was growing as I learned more and more during the gardening
course. There, I learned some techniques, the right way to cut branches and
also to know what to remove and what to leave.
Then I explain how I pruned this tree. It is a mulberry about five meters high.
As seen
above, the photo on the left is as the tree was before, and the photo on the
right is as it stood once rotten. All trees must be pruned except for some
specimen, such as cherry trees, must be made when the tree is resting. The
optimum season for doing this job is in winter.
First of
all, I made a general assessment from the ground to see what tools I should use
depending on the size of the branch and the difficulty I had in cutting it.
Hand branches, which are small, for thinner branches, lever branches, which are
larger and shaped like hooks to cut thicker branches and finally, the hand saw,
for those that cannot be cut with any scissors. Once the general assessment was
made, I started to cut. To make it simpler, once on the ladder and with the
hand scissors, I cut to the size that they left me, for the simple fact also of
avoiding damage at the time of the final cut. I divided the tree into four
sections, which is basically working from the same point without having to move
the staircase. In each section I did the same: first cut off the tips with the
hand scissors, then, if possible, with the levers making the final cut leaving
a certain angle for rainwater or frost to rot and allowing the liquid to slide
to the ground. Three-quarters of the tree was relatively easy to do because it
did not have much trouble making the cuts, but one of the parts, had thick
branches and were very crowded. In this case, I had to use a pole electric and
in five minutes it was cut. Finally, once all the work was done, all that was
needed was to pick up all the branches and take them to a suitable place. I made the potion using only pruning scissors
of different sizes, a hand saw and a ladder.
I spent a total of three and a half hours there
