Cactus Crassula cv. Ivory pagoda

The name “Crassula” comes from the Latin “crassus”, meaning fat.

Category:

Crassula cv. Ivory pagoda is a hybrid between Crassula Falcata and Crassula Barklyi, and because it is a plant created in a nursery, it does not originate from nature, but rather comes from the United States, as it was there that it was invented in 1962. With very slow growth, it is considered a dwarf plant.

The stems form as a sort of columns, but are not seen because the leaves that are quite thick, fleshy, greyish-green with a whitish underside, are curved upwards and are triangular in shape, stacked on each other and completely hidden away.

This hybrid was created by the beauty and peculiarity of its foliage, and this makes it rarely bloom, but if we’re lucky and it does, it will be between March and April, and it will offer us as a bouquet of tiny, pink and white flowers at the top of the plant.

Attention to irrigation: irrigate moderately but often in spring and summer; reduce irrigation in winter to prevent root rot or directly suppress it. This plant requires exposure in a luminous place or in clear shade. It is best kept indoors to avoid frost damage, as temperatures below five degrees positive must be avoided.
