The Hoya Kerrii Variegata comes from the tropical rainforests of Thailand and as you can imagine from this curious form, it is called the heart cactus or heart plant. This peculiar form has made it one of the most popular succulents in recent years. Unlike some other succulent species, Hoya kerrii is considered a climbing plant.
It is a slow-growing plant, with fleshy, rigid and usually green leaves, but then there is the “variegata” version that you have seen that it has yellow and cream color stripes. Although it seems strange, although I have said that it is slow growing, if you are patient you can reach four meters high.
As for flowering and the location where it is located, if we want it to flower it is advisable to receive sunlight but indirect, since if it receives direct sunlight we can burn the leaves. It must oscillate between 16 and 25 degrees, without exceeding 30 degrees, because exceeding this temperature could be harmful. What could also lead to problems are temperatures below five positive degrees, too cold could also damage the plant.
If all this I have said is respected, in summer small star-shaped flowers will emerge with a creamy white hue on the petals and the dark pink center. Finally, irrigation must be rather scarce. Before watering it, you must make sure that the substrate is completely dry, the water cannot wet the leaves and above all, if you have a dish under your pot, remove the excess water.
