Cacti Echinofossulocactus Crispatus

It is a widespread species worldwide as an ornamental plant.

Echinofossulocactus Crispatus or Bisnaga undulada crispata is native to Mexico. With a spherical/column stem that measures eight to ten centimeters high and has 25 to 60 ribs slightly curved.

The spines are unequal between them and of a very variable number. Normally they are straight and rigid and colored that can go from white to yellow passing through brown. It has three to nine central spines between 10 and 65 millimeters long and two to ten radial spines that reach 28 millimeters.

The flowers are purple and violet, they are very pronounced, they come out between the spines and measure two to four centimeters long. Its flowering period is between February and April.

It has a good tolerance to heat, it is better not to receive direct sunlight because it can cause burns and it is advisable not to expose it to temperatures less than five negative degrees, since it could also cause problems.

Finally, the irrigation should not be very abundant, watering once every fortnight in spring and summer and, in autumn once a month. Stop providing water when temperatures are less than ten positive degrees.
