Cacti Kalanchoe Synsepala

Here we have the Kalanchoe Synsepala, it is a succulent plant from Madagascar. We know it with the vulgar name of a lips plant, and this is thanks to the shape of its flowers, which remind a person’s lips.

It has fleshy and rounded leaves with red and orange hues. In addition to being a visual spectacle, it is said to have medicinal properties and has been used in traditional natural medicine.

Flowering is one of the maximum attractions that this species has. It has tubular flowers with red and green tones that if we are lucky and we have the plant in the right conditions we can see it between spring and summer. It is important that it receives indirect sunlight, and it is also important that we do not overwater it, it must have good drainage to avoid problems of waterlogging.

We don’t have to go with water because we can facilitate the appearance of fungi in the roots. It is recommended to keep the substrate moist in spring and summer, watering once every fortnight in spring and once a week in summer and, in autumn, when the minimum temperatures begin to be low, stop watering until the next spring, when the temperatures have stabilized a little.
