Cactus Mammillaria Haageana

Its natural habitat is arid deserts.

Category:

Mammillaria Haageana is generally found in Mexico. Named vulgarly Bisnaguita, it is also known by the scientific synonyms Mammillaria elegans and Mammillaria Dealbata among others. Is a fully globular and solitary cactus, it can grow up to thirty centimeters in height occasionally forming colonies.

It grows vertically by creating new and small white spikes that if you nail them, you will have problems extracting them. The way it grows can remember a mountain of tires, put on top of each other horizontally.

Flowers, as is usual in this species, appear as a crown on top of the cactus and are usually reddish pink. It produces fruits that, apart from being quite decorative, are the ones responsible for providing the seeds to plant and create new specimens.

It prefers a semi-shadow environment or being in a very well-lit area without receiving direct sun. It should not be exposed to temperatures below four positive degrees. When irrigating, I recommend that you do it once every fortnight from spring to summer, in autumn once a month and when the minimum temperatures are below five degrees positive, stop providing water until the following spring. Its main enemy is excess water.
