Cactus Sedum Palmeri

It is one of the easiest plants to care for.

Sedum Palmeri, or sedum, which is one of its common names, is a succulent native to Mexico and is naturalized in Italy. Despite its shrubby appearance, it is a hanging plant with slightly flexible stems where, at the tip of each stem comes a rosette formed by very small, thin leaves.

The leaves are oval, usually pale green, but if it is exposed to a severe cold or is too many hours under the sun, we will see the tips turn red. It tolerates both the cold and the heat well, so it will easily hold temperatures below zero degrees.

Irrigation must be abundant but rare, as excess moisture can be harmful. If we have to spend every fortnight from spring to autumn, that will be more than enough. In winter, if the temperatures remain stable, you can irrigate once a month, if not prevent water until the cold has passed.

Flowering occurs in late winter and early spring, and offers us yellow flowers, small between two and five centimeters and star-shaped.
