Here’s one of my favorite crass plants. The Crassula Ovata Gollum is native to southern Africa and is commonly called Shrek’s ears after the cartoon character. It is a very compact shrub plant with very thick stems and, in its natural habitat, can measure up to ninety centimeters high by sixty centimeters wide. The leaves are tubular with a small red coloration at the ends.
During the winter, this crassula develops flowers very similar to the other crass plants. The flower consists of five pink petals, with pink touches at the ends. It supports weak frost without suffering problems and also has dry and hot climates and, good for four to six hours of light a day, it is good for shade.
The irrigation must be rather light, water must not be dammed and the substrate must be completely dry before irrigation is resumed. We’re going to sail every fortnight in the spring, once a week in the summer, and in the autumn, just once a month and when it starts to get cold, we have to keep the land dry and without humidity, that’s the only way it has to not freeze when there’s a weak frost.
