Cactus Mammillaria Nunezii

Its popularity dates back more than thirty years.

Category:

Mammillaria Nunezii is also known by the scientific synonym Mammillaria Hubertmulleri, found in Mexico, in the states of Guerrero, Morelos and Jalisco. It has a globous shape when small and becomes cylindrical and columnar when it grows to fifteen centimeters in height and six to eight centimeters wide.

Tubercules are usually quadrangular at the base and with hairs on the armpits. It has between ten and thirty white and straight radial spines (sometimes a hook-shaped spike) and between two and ten centers with black tips.

The flowers are magenta or pinkish and make a greenish white fruit with pink dots and make brown seeds. It is rather slow growing, so a lot of patience if you want to see it when it’s big. The minimum temperature supported is five degrees negative.

The irrigation must be quite scarce throughout the year: once every fortnight in spring and summer and in autumn and winter it does not provide water.

It has no major problems with diseases or pests unless the water supply is exceeded.
