I present the Rhipsalis Pilocarpa, it is a hairy cactus that grows like a bush. If we look for its origin, we will go to Brazil, to the regions of the jungle or semi-jungle, distributed only at 2000 km2. If we look carefully, we can see that it has cylindrical stems of green color with soft whitish spines.
They are not sharp and have neither spines nor needles. If you are a bit curious about things, you will see that it looks a little like the scratches that some people carry. As it grows, it branches and if you have it in a pot, it will end up being a hanging plant. Over time, it sometimes removes aerial roots that can facilitate propagation if you want to make cuttings.
As for irrigation, it is completely different from the rest of cactus and succulent varieties that may exist, since this Rhipsalis has grown in the jungle and not in the desert, it needs a moist substrate without water being waterlogged.
This is very important, because it could lead to death by stinking. It is a strange cactus because it needs more water throughout the year. I recommend watering three times a week in summer and at most twice a week the rest of the year.
We can have it both inside and outside. Due to its port, it is a cactus very suitable to have it in the dining room of the house. It needs indirect lighting or being in semi-shade because its natural habitat receives practically no light for the trees that may have around it.
Finally, if we are lucky to see it bloom, we can see small flowers with yellow colorations.
