Cactus Haworthia Cymbiformis

It is very attractive and perfect for interiors and for creating craft gardens.

Haworthia Cymbiformis is a succulent plant native to South Africa. It is known by the common name Aloe Cymbiformis because of the similarity of the leaves of both species.

It is a generally small plant that grows on the ground, forming compact rosettes with a pale green color. Like its close relative Haworthia retusa, its fleshy and pointed leaves become transparent, which makes it a very showy plant when the direct sun touches it. Now that I’m talking about the leaves, I’ve been looking for information to be able to write this article about this species of plant. I’ve found a curiosity that I found quite interesting. If you look at them, they have a rather ship-like shape, hence the name “cymbiformis”, because translated from Latin, this means “ship shape”.

This Haworthia isn’t awkward to make people live. The most important thing to bear in mind, I would say, is that you should not expose it to temperatures below zero degrees, as this could have serious consequences for the plant. If you have it in a place where the sun touches it and there is not much humidity (better in a warm and dry climate), you will live for many years. If you have it in good condition, you will see it flourish. White flowers with pink lines sprout at the tip of a long stem (about twenty centimeters) that rises in the center of the succulent. They usually leave between spring and summer.

As for irrigation, it must be more frequent than abundant (meaning that it is better to have it a little twice a week in both spring and summer than to have it a lot and only once every fortnight. In autumn as it starts to get cold, it is better not to irrigate until the cold has passed.

Finally, what you have to avoid unless you want Haworthia to die is excess moisture, because too much moisture means that the plant rots.
