Cactus Mammillaria Geminispina

Mammillaria Geminispina or Mammillaria two thorns (this is its common name) comes from Mexico and the southern United States. They are usually small cacti, but punctually, if they find the right place to offer them excellent quality of life, they can form colonies up to two meters in diameter, so it is recommended for planting in pots and gardeners.

The spines, over time, are long, white at the base and black at the tip. For each point where they are located, about twenty come out. As is usual in Mammillarias, the flowers rise above and are usually pink, giving it a different and curious appearance.

In the summer, it can hold the heat perfectly, although if the heat in the region where you are very marked, it can appreciate a little semi-shadow. This is an ideal cactus for beginners in this world, so it is right to have it inside each, provided it is in a well-lit area. In winter, it is not recommended to expose it to temperatures below five positive degrees.

Finally, I will tell you about the irrigation: in spring and summer, irrigate moderately, once every fortnight it is fine, in autumn once a month and in winter, to stop providing water until next spring. Its worst enemy, like that of a variety of cacti, is excess moisture.
