Here is Rebutia Minuscula, from Argentina, also known by the scientific synonym Rebutia Senilis. I can’t tell you much about this specimen because I don’t know much about it either. They are small round cactuses of bright green body with a slightly sunk center. Unlike other species, it has no ribs, but some tubers, and they are curiously placed into a spiral.
Each tuber has up to twenty-five spines, but they are small and weak (of course, however small, if you punch them, you will hurt anyway). It will not grow much longer than ten centimeters in height or more than twenty in diameter; these measures are only for exceptional cases.
Flowering occurs from spring to early summer, and offers us flowers that may be red, orange or purple. They exit at the base of the cactus and are abundantly funnel-shaped. It then leads to small orange or red fruits that are the seeds.
Finally, it resists light frost if the earth is completely dry, but should not be exposed to less than three positive degrees. The irrigation must be moderate in both spring and summer, in autumn, irrigation only once and after the dry winter passes, do not supply water from October onwards. An excess irrigation can be one of the causes of mortality in the plant.
