Cactus Mammillaria Marksiana

It has spread around the world as an ornamental plant.

Here’s a mammillaria that’s considered strange. Mammillaria Marksiana, from Mexico and the deserts of America. It is named after one of the discoverers of this cactus, Bisnaga of Marks. They tend to be light green globular body and sunk center. It can grow up to fifteen centimeters high. In this case, tubercules are pyramidal in shape, with woolly armpits, and few spines both central and radial.

It prefers full sunlight, though it is also known to fit into semi-shadowed spaces. Flowering will thrive better in the first case than in the second. We can enjoy a few small yellow flowers in the summer season at the highest part of the cactus (as you know, forming a crown).

It has a considerably high degree in the cold, up to three positive degrees must not have difficulty living. The irrigation must be regular and abundant in spring and summer (once every fortnight) and must be completely abolished with the arrival of the cold. In the autumn we can water it too, but at most once a month. Before we provide water, we must be absolutely sure that the substrate is dry.

Finally, if we consider the irrigation period and do not exceed water, it is not a cactus that presents problems with fungi, pests or diseases in general.
